Tarp Surf Love Park

Ok, I’m a sucker when it comes to the ocean. My summers have long been spent at the Jersey shore, but this is something else. The moment I saw a quick shot of “tarp surfing” in a recent Apple ad, I knew it was too cool for even them to come up with. Then, upon looking for partners for PlayPhilly I stumbled upon the creator, Robert Brady. If the videos on youTube weren’t inspiring enough, his story certainly was. Unable to surf anymore due to a battle with cancer, Robert took what little strength he had to seek a beloved past-time if only for one last time.

Robert has attributed his survival to his mental well being from the love of his family and favorite sport. It shouldn’t take such harsh circumstances to come to that notion, so we say, let’s break out the blue. Let’s bring a little Capistrano to Philly and instead of skating Love Park, which is technically illegal. We surf it, and make some killer shred videos for the interwebs.
